In the past few years, cocktail bars have been popping up all over Mexico City.

And you’ll find lots of them in the Roma Norte neighborhood, where you can walk from place to place and try different cocktails or settle in for a few drinks and something to eat at one spot.

A few tips:

  • Go early on a weeknight when it’s less busy if you want to improve your odds of getting a good seat, maybe even a seat at the bar. Go later and on weekends for a better feel of a bar’s vibe, when it’s packed.

  • Plan to pay $200 to $350 pesos per drink ($10 to $17.50 USD) in upscale, stylish bars like these. You can pay with credit cards.

  • You may have to be a little more assertive when you want to get a server’s attention, compared to in the U.S. Waiters in Mexico City are more likely to leave you to enjoy the people you’re with than to interrupt you to check on you.

An 💜 Eternal Spring subscription is a smart investment in your Mexico City experience. For just $7/month or $49/year, you get access to all of our paid content, plus our archive of more than 100 articles covering neighborhood walks, what to pack, safety considerations, and more.
